Quality Control
The American West Windmill & Solar Co. prides itself on providing only the highest quality new windmills, new components, and new replacement parts on the market today. Experienced personnel, along with a new state-of-the-art facility, are devoted to ensuring complete customer satisfaction. All windmill motors undergo a 20-point inspection procedure, developed to ensure proper motor operation and quality, and overseen by our windmill professionals. Please see our Standard Quality Control Checklist that must be complete before any new windmill leaves our facility.
The castings are poured at the foundry.

- checked 520 Oil Collector for proper installation and operation
- cleaned threads in 703 Hub
- checked threads for 580 Spring Holder
- checked 752 Bearing for proper installation
- checked all pins for proper installation
- checked 751 Bar for proper fit and tension
- checked 755 Gears for proper alignment
- checked 507 Oil Ring for defects
- checked 608 Yoke for defects
- checked 507 Oil Ring during rotation of motor for correct operation
- turned 703 Hub and checked for proper motor operation
- checked 610 Pin
- checked 508 Pitman Guide
- stamped motor with date code, serial number and inspector’s initials
- cleaned exterior of motor
- installed BM-BOB, instructions, oil and palletized
